He is an super guy and will make everyone proud.. I will do the rafting trip and throw some darts. Thanks to everyone who has helped me to succeed all of these years. A special toast to all of the Hall of Famers...
What a wild and wonderful ride it has been for me. I would never had thought that I would own Mama's for 32 years. I have met so many wonderful folks who I call my best friends. I am so lucky to have made in a business that has such a high failure rate. I met my wife at Mama's and at least 12 other couples met here and then got married. Mama's is one of the last original Taverns from the heyday of OSU bars. Here is to another 32 years with the new owner, Brian Galensky.

What a great time was had by all. Dan and Jillian got married in The Rockhouse Resort in Negril, Jamaica. We had 28 friends from Mama's venture to their wedding. Dan and Jillian met at Mama's and are an awesome young couple. It was great to hang with them and share their big night.... It was fun getting to meet her parents and Dan's Mom. They are really good folks who have to be extremely proud of their kids
The Summer cookout and reunion is a great way to reconnect with Mama's regulars past and present. Come on in and just say Hi. this year the cookout is on Friday July 26th. Chef Brian will be flipping burgers and giving them to the regulars with a smile and a high five. Hope to see everyone this Summer. If you have not heard, Brian is now part owner of Mama's and
As we finally get out of Winter's icy hold, I am excited for the upcoming NCAA basketball Tourney. One of my favorite times of the year.Make sure you get to Mama's to fill out your bracket before the first games start. We have a wonderfull staff working right now.
A collection of good personalities who mesh well with our awesome group of regulars. I feel extremely lucky. As always Go Bucks... Hey, everyone it is hard to believe but the trip is set for May 19th. We already have 85 people signed up to go, plus the groupies
Here is hoping for 75 and sunny! Well I always hate that time when we lose some great bartenders who have decided to move on to bigger and better things. Nora is heading to Ireland to hang with her Irish Boyfriend. She is hoping to get citizenship. So go ahead and fly to Ireland to visit her. Her smile and laugh will be missed. Heather has also exited for exciting Noth Canton. I wish her the best of luck finding a job in her major. Her loyalty and competitive spunk will be missed..We now have three new faces that are eagerly waiting to meet all of our regulars. Megan and Kelsey have been here since last Fall and Juli is my newest addition to the staff. I like all of their personalities
What a year the Bucks will have this year in basketball. We just demolished a good Florida team. I am excited to watch these guys play. Of course we also have the football Bucks who looking good after beating Joe Pa last weekend
Many of you have heared or even used the term "Breakfast" when playing
'01 darts and hitting the dreaded 26 - S20-S5-S1 shot. There are a lot of people who claim they came up with this term, they are mistaken. I came up with the term and here is how. When I was in highschool I took a pre-college electronic engineer course taught by Dr. Robert Fine. Whenever someone blew something up or electrocuted themselves in his lab Dr. Fine would always say "Jeeeso Cringo what did you do now you ham and egger." When one day he was asked what he meant by ham and egger he replied "It's the cheapest thing on the menu." Dr. Fine went on to explain if you ever read the menu of a full service retaurant you will find that meals listed on the breakfast portion are usually the least expensive. This was Dr. Fine's contribution. Years later when I started throwing darts I was terrible and thankful for any 26's I threw. After I became more proficient and after buying Mike Fish countless Miller High Lifes for the lessons I outgrew the 26's. I became dissapointed every time I threw a 26, it was my ham and egger, the cheapest thing on the menu, "BREAKFAST". That is how "BREAKFAST" was born. Bob McGuane is a Mama's Hall of Famer and a truly fun and enjoyable character who has been a major part of Mama's history .AOLWebSuite .AOLPicturesFullSizeLink { height: 1px; width: 1px; overflow: hidden; } .AOLWebSuite a {color:blue; text-decoration: underline; cursor: pointer} .AOLWebSuite a.hsSig {cursor: default} .AOLWebSuite .AOLPicturesFullSizeLink { height: 1px; width: 1px; overflow: hidden; } .AOLWebSuite a {color:blue; text-decoration: underline; cursor: pointer} .AOLWebSuite a.hsSig {cursor: default} Well, what an awesome weekend we had. The rafting trip was once again a huge success. We had 60 folks in W. Virginia to enjoy the rain at Ray's Campground and the sunny and 75 day on the river. It was 5 feet above normal which is a primo level. I am so glad to be able to turn people on to the hobby I love and have so much enjoyed for 27 years. If you missed the trip , you better be there next year
What a great day in Buckeyeland. Tressel loosens up the playbook, the defense plays great, and Pryor plays a great game. Mama's was rocking for the game. we had food for 50 people twice over. We even had roast duck thanks to Adam. I never knew that Shawn was a ice cream fanatic when he drinks his beer. I am looking forward to a awesome 2010. Keep optimistic and enjoy your days
