Many of you have heared or even used the term "Breakfast" when playing
'01 darts and hitting the dreaded 26 - S20-S5-S1 shot. There are a lot of
people who claim they came up with this term, they are mistaken. I came
up with the term and here is how.

When I was in highschool I took a pre-college electronic engineer course
taught by Dr. Robert Fine. Whenever someone blew something up or
electrocuted themselves in his lab Dr. Fine would always say  "Jeeeso
Cringo what did you do now you ham and egger."  When one day he was
asked what he meant by ham and egger he replied  "It's the cheapest thing
on the menu."  Dr. Fine went on to explain if you ever read the menu of a full
service retaurant you will find that meals listed on the breakfast portion are
usually the least expensive. This was Dr. Fine's contribution.

Years later when I started throwing darts I was terrible and thankful for any
26's  I threw. After I became more proficient and after buying Mike Fish
countless Miller High Lifes for the lessons I outgrew the 26's. I became
dissapointed every time I threw a 26, it was my ham and egger, the cheapest
thing on the menu, "BREAKFAST". That is how "BREAKFAST"  was born.

Well, what an awesome weekend we had. The rafting trip was once again a  huge success. We had 60 folks in W. Virginia to enjoy the rain at Ray's Campground and the sunny and 75 day on the river. It was 5 feet above normal which is a primo level. I am so glad to be able to turn people on to the hobby I love and have so much enjoyed for 27 years. If you missed the trip , you better be there next year

Bucks Rule 01/06/2010

What a great day in Buckeyeland. Tressel loosens up the playbook, the defense plays great, and Pryor plays a great game. Mama's was rocking for the game. we had food for 50 people twice over. We even had roast duck thanks to Adam. I never knew that Shawn was a ice cream fanatic when he drinks his beer. I am looking forward to a awesome 2010. Keep optimistic and enjoy your days

MAMA'S thoughts 12/04/2009

I always to try and reflect on some of my favorite times at Mama's. I really miss the 5 pm happy hour when The Long's workers,College Town guys, Suzette,Bill,Jeff and other great folks came marching in with a smile on their face because work was over and they knew the beer was cold and waiting for them. I learned a lot from these guys. So, I will tip a beer or two in their honor tonight. Hopefully a smile will cross their paths too.

Hey everyone. This must be a nervous week for all as the USC game appraoches. Let's hope Tressel opens up the playbook some and our defense  grows up quickly. Last Saturday was a scare as Navy made it too close ..Come on in and cheer us on

The golf outing was lots of fun. There was a 0 percent chance of rain, so of course it rained for 10 minutes. The weather was perfect before and after. My group had too many 25 foot puts and could only finish 5th out of 11 teams. Jeff  could not match Eric's feat the  year before, but his team played good golf and finished in second at 9 under.  Hot brats, burgers, beans and cold beer, what more could you ask for

This coming weekend(August1), we will have another golf scramble at Table Rock. We have had some good golf and some really bad(usually alcohol induced) golfing. It is like a reunion too as we get to hook up with guys who actually have real jobs and work. The all time longest round was posted by Fink and Charlie. They came in 1/12 hours behind the group in front of them. Tom Enneking has had a hole in one which was great to see.
This year's pre tourney favorite is the group of Richard"shank" Miller. Hope to see you on Saturday

Special Thanks 07/03/2009

I wanted to say a special thanks to all of the folks who volunteered to come back to  Mama's and  work a shift or two when I had that nasty Staph infection last monte. I really appreciate it.

Remember Suzette's annual Luau is set for Saturday July 11th. She will be on a roll I am sure.
